As the product of public education Kimberly understands that our local schools often define our communities. For many, we're not just from Baden, Hickory Township, or Big Beaver; we're Bridgers, Hurricanes, or Tigers. Not only does our school prepare us for adulthood, but they define our youth and create lifelong bonds that will never be broken or understood by the outside world. These schools are our communites' history and hold the key to our future. For these reasons, Pennsylvania must invest in education to provide our children with the necessary tools for them to accomplish what they choose in life.

Kim understands that the best way to achieve the American Dream is through access to higher education.
As the global marketplace grows more competitive, we must strive for excellence in public education and expand access to higher education and vocational job training. We cannot allow our region, state, and country to fall further behind in a global economy. Pennsylvania also must improve support services and promote the use of technology to prepare students for a high-tech economy, and to encourage efficency at the adminstrative level to help keep overhead cost low.

The Buck Stops Here

For far too long Harrisburg has been cutting education funding, shifting the burden onto the backs of propery owners. Because of these cuts, communities that have been hurt by economic factors beyond their control suffer again when their schools struggle to meet federally mandaded programs, and an declining tax base. If Harrisburg could help provide more funding, our local school districts would not be as inclined to shift cost to the homeowners, and local schools can continue to prepare our children for a 21st century economy.
